Ecuador
Ecuador, located in northwestern South America, shares borders with Colombia and Peru and stretches along the Pacific Ocean. Its name refers to the equator, which runs through the country. Ecuador also encompasses the famous Galápagos Islands, situated about 1,000 km off the mainland. The country boasts remarkably diverse landscapes, from scenic coastlines and the majestic Andes to the Amazon Basin. Average temperatures range from 15 °C in the highlands to 30 °C along the coast. The dry season, from June to September, is generally considered the best time to visit.
